What happens for the first visit
Dr. Jacobs takes information from you about family history, current activities and the symptoms that brought you into the office. He will test your vital signs and range of motion. Then he will perform various neurological and orthopedic tests. He will determine if you need an x-ray. He will then discuss the treatment options available.
What does an adjustment feel like
Depending on the treatment method determined by you and the doctor, the doctor will either use a device that gently taps the joint back into place, or he will use his hands to apply a specific amount of pressure to the area to guide the joint into place.
How long does it take to get better
A few patients see almost immediate relief. Most patients see considerable improvement in a couple of weeks, but there a variety of factors that determine the length of care. Such factors include age, diet, weight, medications, amount of rest, modifying activity and following doctor's care advice.
